What can I do to protect myself from fraud?

You can protect your Vivid Money account from fraud by following these tips:

When handling your data & devices

  1. Never share any codes from SMS or push notifications, card details (except when you're checking out during online shopping), or login details and passwords (for both your Vivid account and the associated email) with anyone, including Vivid employees.

  2. Create a strong and unique password that contains at least eight characters.
Mix things up a little - use a combination of numbers, special characters, lowercase and uppercase letters. The quirkier, the better! Never write down your password, unless you use an encrypted tool for saving it.

  3. Use biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial recognition) or a passcode to log into your account.

  4. Avoid sharing your devices as much as possible.

When using your account

  1. Monitor transactions on your account regularly and spread your money across different pockets wisely.

  2. Set up a monthly limit for your card transactions.

  3. To keep a large sum of money safe, we recommend setting up a separate pocket. If possible, do not link any cards, or make any payment transactions using this pocket (money transfers, purchases, ATM withdrawals). Avoid sharing this pocket’s IBAN with anyone. If you receive a direct debit, you can return it within the legal time limit.

  4. Never share one-time authentication codes or your card details with anyone. Also, never enter your card details alone or together with one-time codes on untrusted websites, especially if you receive a suspicious SMS or email containing a link, as this might lead to your card being registered with Apple or Google Pay wallets on third-party devices and/or may result in legitimate card transactions being made using the data you disclosed.

  5. Please always follow our notifications — when your card is added to an Apple or Google Pay wallet, you will receive a relevant push notification and email.

  6. If you notice any activity you didn’t initiate or authorise, please open your Vivid app, block the affected card immediately, and contact us.

When communicating with us

  1. Only trust our official website, www.vivid.money, where you can also find information about our products and links to our official social media channels.
