There might be a few reasons and you can check your timeline for the reason of the decline.

You may have exceeded the limits for contactless payments.

Current limits:

  • Total amount of consecutive contactless payments €150

  • Amount of a single contactless payment €50

To reset the limits for contactless payments, please just make the next purchase by inserting the card into the card reader and confirming the transaction by PIN.

You may not have enough funds.

You can only spend the money you have on your account.

The card payment terminal may be set up wrong.

Try a payment at a different merchant to ensure it’s not a fault of the terminal.

Your card may have been blocked before.
